I am delighted to sent greetings by WMRA and by myself to all the athletes, coaches, officials, media, spectators and – above of all – organisers and sponsors of the WMRA Long Distance Mountain Running Challenge, which on next 18th June 2011 will celebrate its 8th edition. The race will be held together the 10th GM40 (Gorski Maraton Štirich Občin) This a competition run over km. 35, where all the runners will discover a beautiful venue in Slovenia. All the LOC member are enthusiastic and well prepared people, who work since many years for this event. WMRA is sure that the title of WMRA Long Distance Mountain Running Challenge is an important recognition for this event! WMRA is confident that the numbers of runners and of the national teams present will increase in comparison with other edition of this competition: for this reason I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all national teams present at Podbrdo. |

Special thanks to Atletska Zveza Slovenije that always support very much mountain running hosting every years some important international events.
As WMRA President, thanking always all the WMRA Council members for their work.
Finally I hope that the message of sport is not only the achievement of the result but also an opportunity to strengthen the values of friendship, tolerance and joint responsibility and to save the nature where mountain running is a “queen of the sport”: also under these aspects the WMRA Long Distance Mountain Running Challenge will be certainly an important meeting.
